These Terms of Use ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the Developer ("we", "us", "our", or "Developer") regarding your use of the Vesper mobile application ("App"). By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
Vesper 1.2 requires an active Vesper Pro membership to access its daily Scripture, prayer, journal, and widget features:
You must be at least 13 years of age (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use this App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that you have obtained parental or guardian consent to use this App.
Parents or guardians are responsible for monitoring their children's use of the App and ensuring compliance with these Terms.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to download, install, and use the App on devices you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use.
You agree NOT to:
Vesper does not require account registration. Apple and RevenueCat manage purchases and membership access using purchase records and app customer identifiers. Device verification may be required for online AI features and purchases, and restoring an existing membership may require the Apple Account used for that purchase.
You retain your rights in the content you submit or write in Vesper. Journal entries and progress are stored locally and are not automatically included in AI requests. If your membership expires, app access is restricted, but your saved entries and progress are not erased. Device backups are controlled by your Apple settings; Vesper does not provide its own journal cloud synchronization service. The Privacy Policy explains local data, optional AI processing, subscription records, and earlier-version analytics.
When you agree to AI processing and submit an intention, you authorize Vesper to transmit that text through its Cloudflare service to Anthropic to generate a prayer. Do not submit content you are not entitled to share. AI responses may be inaccurate, unsuitable, or inconsistent with your beliefs; review them before relying on or sharing them. AI availability depends on a connection, service availability, device verification, and usage limits. With an active membership, bundled prayers and the local journal can be used without AI.
Vesper 1.2 requires an active Vesper Pro membership to access the app, including Scripture, prayer, the personal journal, and widgets. An eligible trial, when offered and activated, provides membership access for its disclosed duration. The in-app paywall describes the features and products offered at the time of purchase.
Subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store and are subject to Apple's terms and conditions.
The available plans, local price, billing period, and any introductory offer are displayed in the native paywall and Apple purchase confirmation before you pay.
Do not rely on a previously displayed price or example to determine the cost of a new purchase.
A trial is offered only when the selected App Store product includes one, Apple confirms your eligibility through StoreKit, and the offer is shown before purchase. Vesper does not guarantee a trial or a particular trial duration. Unless you cancel within the applicable cancellation period, the subscription renews at the disclosed price after the offer ends. Vesper does not promise a trial-ending reminder.
Subscription price changes, notices, and any required consent are handled according to Apple's rules and applicable law. You can manage or cancel a subscription in Apple Account settings.
The App, including all content, features, functionality, software, design, text, graphics, logos, and underlying technology, is owned by the Developer and is protected by copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
Bible verses and content in the App are sourced from public domain sources and authorized translations. We respect intellectual property rights and expect users to do the same.
You retain your rights in journal entries and other content you create. You give us only the permission needed to process content you choose to submit for an online feature or support request, as described in the Privacy Policy. AI-generated responses may not be unique, and Vesper does not guarantee that they qualify for copyright protection.
"Vesper" and associated logos are trademarks of the Developer. You may not use these trademarks without prior written permission.
THE APP IS NOT INTENDED TO PROVIDE MEDICAL, MENTAL HEALTH, PSYCHOLOGICAL, OR PROFESSIONAL SPIRITUAL GUIDANCE. The prayers, Bible verses, and content provided are for personal spiritual reflection and informational purposes only and should not be considered a substitute for professional mental health counseling or therapy, medical diagnosis or treatment, guidance from qualified clergy or spiritual advisors, or professional psychological or psychiatric care.
If you are experiencing mental health difficulties, depression, anxiety, or thoughts of self-harm, always seek the advice of qualified healthcare providers and licensed mental health professionals. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of content in this App.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW (SUBJECT TO MANDATORY CONSUMER PROTECTION LAWS FOR EU CONSUMERS), THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT; WARRANTIES REGARDING ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR COMPLETENESS OF CONTENT; WARRANTIES THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE; OR WARRANTIES THAT GENERATED PRAYERS WILL MEET YOUR SPIRITUAL OR PERSONAL NEEDS.
EU Consumer Notice: If you are an EU consumer, this disclaimer does not affect your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection laws, including rights to conformity of digital content and services under Directive (EU) 2019/770.
For EU Consumers: Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable consumer protection laws, or breach of the mandatory conformity requirements under EU law.
Subject to Section 10.1, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, revenue, or data; loss of goodwill or reputation; business interruption; personal injury or emotional distress (except where caused by our negligence); spiritual harm or religious offense; or any other intangible losses, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Subject to Section 10.1, our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred euros (€100.00).

Earlier app versions may also use PostHog; Vesper 1.2 does not initialize that analytics service. The Privacy Policy explains the version differences.
We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of third-party services, their privacy practices or terms of service, or any damages or losses caused by third-party services. Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice, for any reason. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the App. However, we will attempt to provide notice of material changes.
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top of these Terms indicates when they were last revised. Material changes will be notified through the App or via email (if provided). Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
You may stop using the App and delete it from your devices at any time. Deleting the app or using Delete All Local Data does not cancel a subscription or erase provider purchase history and security records. Cancel through your Apple Account subscription settings; see Apple's cancellation instructions.
We may terminate or suspend your access to the App immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms or engage in unauthorized or illegal activity.
Upon termination, all licenses granted to you will immediately terminate and you must cease all use of the App. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership, warranty disclaimers, and limitations of liability. Your locally stored data will remain on your device until you delete it.
The App is controlled and operated by the Developer and is available worldwide. We make no representation that the App is appropriate or available for use in all locations. Access to the App from territories where its content is illegal is prohibited.
We strive to make the App accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. If you experience any difficulty accessing any part of the App, please contact us and we will work with you to provide the information or service you seek through an alternative communication method.
We welcome feedback, comments, and suggestions for improvements to the App. You acknowledge and agree that if you submit Feedback, we may use it without restriction or compensation to you, and you hereby grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, modify, and incorporate such Feedback into our products and services.
If you access the App via Apple's App Store, you acknowledge that:
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or if that is not possible, severed from these Terms. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of the App and supersede all prior negotiations, representations, and agreements, whether written or oral.
For users in the European Union, these Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the applicable EU country laws, without regard to its conflict of law principles. You are entitled to the protection afforded to consumers under EU consumer protection laws.
For users outside the European Union, these Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
